Once, director Puri Jagannadh spoke about why film people are afraid to mix with the public. He explained how badly people behave with them, how actresses are harassed, and how even men are not spared.
What he said earlier was experienced directly by The Raja Saab team just a day ago.
Planning a song launch for a big pan-India film like The Raja Saab inside a mall itself was a wrong decision. On top of that, the event was planned in a very small mall, located in an area where traffic is already terrible.
This decision was taken by the event management team. Even though key members of the film unit reportedly objected and said it was not a good idea, the event managers insisted that the location would be fine. There were even discussions about this in the internal group chats.
What made matters worse was the complete lack of security. There were not enough bouncers for the actresses or the other celebrities. Their safety was simply ignored. As a result, a huge crowd gathered, and people did not behave responsibly.
Actress Nidhhi Agerwal was touched and grabbed inappropriately. Music director Thaman was hit hard on his back and head by people in the crowd. Producer SKN was even subjected to physical harassment. No one was spared. Many things that happened are too disturbing to even describe.
The main reason for all this chaos was poor planning. If the event was to be held at Lulu Mall, proper security arrangements should have been made. Adequate bouncers and crowd control were a must.
This incident should serve as a serious lesson for future film events. Celebrity safety and crowd management cannot be taken lightly.
