The Bombay High Court has given an important judgment in a case involving film critic and actor Kamal Rashid Khan widely known as KRK and film producer Vashu Bhagnani.
The court said that Khan must not publish or share any defamatory statements against Bhagnani until the case filed by the producer is finally decided. The court felt that such public comments can seriously harm a person’s image.
Bhagnani had approached the court after Khan posted several statements on social media in 2021, which he claimed damaged his reputation and invaded his privacy.
While the case is still under consideration, Bhagnani requested the court to stop Khan from making further remarks and also asked for an unconditional apology from him.
The court agreed to stop Khan from making further defamatory posts. However, it refused to order an immediate apology.
The judges said that whether Khan should apologise or not will be decided later, after examining all evidence during the final hearing of the case.
