YS Jagan Turns 53 Today: Signs Of Political Revival

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy turned 53 today. On this occasion, first wishing him a very happy birthday, GreatAndhra wishes to share an insight of what he has actually done in the last one and a half years of his position without power.

It is true that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy struggled a lot after the demise of his father, the then Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, in 2009, and eventually faced political attacks, incarceration and legal battles.

With his hard work, he won triumphantly in 2019 and ruled the state of AP for five years as Chief Minister.

He was in the mode that distributing money through various schemes to people would keep his power strong. But to his shock, he lost the election in 2024 and was left with a shocking 11 seats from his earlier 151 MLA seats. Readmore!

However, after losing power, in the last one and a half years the YSRCP has been struggling. There were arrests, attacks and social media harassment of party members and leaders.

There was a big dent to the party by all means, and leaders within the party themselves had negative feelings about Jagan Mohan Reddy, who they felt should change his ways, only then there would be a political future.

But Jagan Mohan Reddy has been making his own moves in his own way. He kept some people aside and continuing with some others out of obligation.

However, the movement against the private medical college move brought some impetus to the YSRCP. Social media, party cadre and leaders started opening up and coming out to give statements explaining how the alliance government’s private medical college move would negatively affect the state and its people.

Amidst that, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is regularly meeting party leaders as well as party workers, unlike before.

His biggest success lies in the statement given by Chandrababu Naidu sometime ago in a meeting with his own party members.

He said that 51 percent of voters are against the alliance government at present and that they need to work hard to correct it.

Such an anti-incumbency admission by Chandrababu Naidu himself, who is the alliance head and the head of the state, is indeed a plus point for the YSRCP.

With all this, there is life and vibe in the YSRCP. Many feel that if this change has come in 1.5 years, the coming 3.5 years would help the YSRCP revive, they believe.

Jagan Mohan Reddy is indeed a charming leader who has an endearing following. He is capable of giving powerful and meaningful political statements that can make opponents uncomfortable. But he has to use his acumen properly and rightly. That would bring oxygen and energy to his own party members, which would ultimately help him regain power.

As a closing note, the news is that Jagan Mohan Reddy is also slowly keeping aside some people who are considered part of a close coterie and are believed to have caused huge damage to the party. If that really happens, and if Jagan Mohan Reddy develops a direct rapport with leaders and well-wishers, only then will he be on the right track to regaining power.

GreatAndhra once again wishes a happy birthday to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
