Former YSR Congress party leader and MLC Duvvada Srinivas, who has beenh hitting headlines with his interviews along with his companion Divvela Madhuri, made some interesting remarks in his latest interview to a television channel.
Srinivas, who was earlier expelled from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), stated that despite his expulsion, his admiration and emotional attachment to party chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy remain intact.
Responding to a question on whether he would join the TDP–Jana Sena alliance, he categorically ruled it out, stating that he would never join that coalition.
When asked if he might consider joining the BJP, Srinivas said that such a decision would be left to the people. Madhuri, however, did not rule it out, saying “we may or may not join the BJP.”
He said he continues to hold deep respect for Jagan Mohan Reddy and asserted that he was deliberately distanced from him by others within the party.
“If I ever return to a position of influence, I will come only to you. I only seek your blessings,” he said.
Srinivas also made it clear that he had never criticised former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy or Jagan Mohan Reddy, irrespective of party affiliations. Recalling his stint in the Praja Rajyam Party, he said he faced pressure to criticise YSR but refused to do so.
He also narrated an incident during a by-election campaign when senior leaders like Kotagiri Vidyadhar Rao and C Ramachandraiah objected to YSR’s photograph being displayed at his residence despite him contesting on a different party’s ticket.
He concluded by saying that while he may join any political party in the future, his ideological line would remain unchanged, and both YSR and Jagan would always command his respect.
