One More Flop Missed by Vijay Deverakonda?

Director Sudha Kongara’s film Parasakthi released in theatres on January 10, 2026. Despite strong expectations, the film failed to make an impact at the box office.

In a recent interview, Sudha Kongara revealed that she had initially planned to include several high-profile cameo appearances in the film, inspired by the strategy used in Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer, which starred Rajinikanth.

As part of this idea, she even approached Abhishek Bachchan for a special appearance.

Explaining her vision, Sudha said she wanted actors from different languages to portray key historical figures in the film. Readmore!

She added that several personalities linked to the anti-Hindi movement were meant to appear through cameo roles.

The director also revealed that Vijay Deverakonda was her first choice for an important cameo role, which eventually went to Rana Daggubati.

“A long time ago, I approached Vijay Deverakonda to play Michael Reddy, but he was busy shooting for Kingdom,” she said.

After Sudha’s comments came out, Vijay Deverakonda’s fans reacted strongly on social media. Many expressed relief that he did not take up the role, pointing out that Parasakthi underperformed and that Rana Daggubati’s cameo failed to create much impact.

Fans believe missing the project helped Vijay Deverakonda avoid being associated with yet another box-office disappointment.
