A series of documents released by YSR Congress party on Thursday have revealed that Maharashtra-based Indapur Dairy was nothing but a manufacturing unit of Heritage Foods owned by the family of Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
The documents released during the press conference of YSRCP president and former chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy disclosed that the official website of Heritage Foods on February 13 listed Indapur as its manufacturing unit.
“But after the YSRCP exposed the scam, Heritage Foods made changes in the website and showed Indapur Dairy as a co-manufacturing unit. Within a day of the scam was exposed, Heritage Foods forced its vice president and head of its national sales department Markand Sastri resign from the post,” the documents said.
The documents released by YSRCP also exposed how Indapur Dairy was awarded ghee contracts worth crores of rupees by the TTD between 2014 and 2019 and that even after failed lab tests in 2016, the firm was allowed to continue.
He added that the company did not participate in tenders during the YSRCP term but reappeared after the coalition came to power.
“Indapur dairy which got the contract for supply of ghee to the TTD in November 2018 for just Rs 321 per kg, has now been given the contract again for an exorbitant rate of Rs 658,” the documents said.
