A Tollywood actress has approached the Hyderabad cyber crime police after allegedly becoming a victim of online defamation and cyberbullying.
The actress claimed that vulgar and defamatory posts were uploaded on social media using her name and accounts.
Based on her complaint, the cyber crime police registered a criminal case on Saturday and began an investigation into the matter.
According to officials, the offensive posts targeted the actress personally and were aimed at damaging her reputation online.
The actress, who is also related to a politician from Andhra Pradesh, reportedly told police that the posts contained abusive and objectionable content.
She said the messages caused serious mental stress and public embarrassment.
