Do you know who the highest paid actor and the director in the Indian film industry are right now? According to industry talk, they are Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh.
Here are the details. The film Dhurandhar, including both parts, was made on a well controlled budget of around Rs 260 crores.
With the kind of collections achieved by Dhurandhar Part 1 and the projected collections expected from Dhurandhar The Revenge, rough estimates suggest that both the director Aditya Dhar and lead actor Ranveer Singh could earn more than Rs 500 crores each from this franchise.
According to inside sources, Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh hold a 20 percent share each in the franchise, while Jio Cinema holds the remaining 60 percent.
Dhurandhar Part 1 alone reportedly grossed around Rs 1400 cr plus with the share estimated at about Rs 700 crores.
The second part is expected to reach nearly Rs 2500 cr, which could bring the share close to Rs 1500 cr (as production cost is already part of Part 1's share).
In addition, the non theatrical rights have reportedly fetched around Rs 300 cr each for Part 1 and Part 2, rounding to Rs 600 cr.
With these numbers, the approximate profit could be more than Rs 2500 cr (even after removing ths Rs 260 production cost), and 20 percent of that would be around Rs 500 cr for each of them.
Industry sources also say that there is a plan to re edit the entire film by adding the unused two hours of footage and release it as a webseries.
If that deal also adds to the revenue through a digital sale, the profits could increase further. These are the rough calculations currently being discussed in film trade circles.
