Abhilash Reddy, the director of the film “Biker,” has given an exclusive interview to GreatAndhra. In his chitchat with Rishikeshwar Yogi, he shared many interesting insights about the film.
When asked how a film based on bike racing would connect with people who may not be very familiar with the sport, Abhilash replied that while bike racing as a sport may not be widely known, riding a bike is something everyone can relate to, as it is part of everyday life.
Speaking about the challenges during production, he recalled an incident that happened in Indonesia while filming an action sequence.
He shared how both exciting and frightening it was for him to shoot that risky scene with Sharwanand.
Answering another question, he said the story is set in Coimbatore because of its racing culture, while all the racing episodes in the film were shot in Indonesia.
He also explained how this film is different from other films in terms of planning and production.
When asked whether he took references from Hollywood racing films, he said he did take some references for technical aspects but not for the dramatic elements of the story.
Sharing a surprising detail, he revealed that Sharwanand reduced 23 kg in six months for the role, praising the actor’s dedication and discipline.
He also spoke about Dr. Rajasekhar, appreciating his seniority, understanding of the narrative, and the emotional depth he brings to the story.
Abhilash further mentioned how UV Creations supported the production. He admitted that he initially considered compromising on certain aspects to keep budget very well in control, but having such a strong production house backing the film made him feel more responsible and confident about maintaining quality.
He also reflected on his first project, “Loser,” and how that experience influenced him as a filmmaker.
