The biggest mistake that even many YCP supporters feel the party high command has made is announcing MAVIGUN (Machilipatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur) as the proposed growth corridor of Andhra Pradesh, especially while contradicting Amaravati as the prospective capital of the state.
Many political observers say that the name MAVIGUN itself has become a laughing stock across the state. Instead of creating excitement about development, the term is being widely trolled on social media and in political discussions.
However, the bigger concern within the party circles is that the real feedback may not be reaching YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in its true form.
Several insiders believe that those close to him, along with supportive social media groups and the party’s own media ecosystem, are projecting the attention around MAVIGUN as something positive.
Whether they are aware that most of the attention is actually in the form of trolling or they are interpreting the buzz as praise remains unclear.
Either way, the narrative reaching the leadership appears very different from the ground reality.
What stands out is that even many YCP supporters privately admit feeling uncomfortable with the name MAVIGUN.
They say such a term, which sounds more humorous than serious, was never expected from a leader like Jagan Mohan Reddy while announcing something as significant as a development corridor.
