'Dhurandhar 2' Beats 'Pushpa 2' And Eyes 'Bahubali 2'

The Indian box office landscape continues to evolve with Dangal leading the all time charts at Rs 2059.04 crore, followed by Baahubali 2: The Conclusion with Rs 1800 crore.

However, the biggest talking point now is the phenomenal run of Dhurandhar 2, which has amassed Rs 1739.14 crore in just 26 days, putting it within striking distance of the second position.

What makes this achievement remarkable is the absence of factors that significantly boosted other blockbusters.

Films like Pushpa 2, currently at Rs 1727.23 crore, and Baahubali 2 benefited from substantial ticket price hikes in key markets such as Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In contrast, Dhurandhar 2 did not enjoy such pricing advantages in any region. Readmore!

Additionally, Dhurandhar 2 did not perform strongly in multiple regional language markets, unlike its competitors.

Its success has been driven primarily by the Hindi version. Even more noteworthy is the lack of a Gulf release, a region that traditionally contributes significantly to Hindi film revenues. Despite these limitations, the film has delivered extraordinary numbers.

Other major contributors to the all time list include Dhurandhar 1 with Rs 1354.84 crore, RRR at Rs 1275.51 crore, and KGF Chapter 2 with Rs 1230 crore.

Bollywood blockbusters such as Jawan at Rs 1163.82 crore and Pathaan at Rs 1069.85 crore also feature prominently, alongside Kalki 2898 AD with Rs 1054.67 crore.

With just around Rs 60 crore needed to surpass Baahubali 2, Dhurandhar 2 stands on the verge of rewriting box office history.

Whether it can cross that milestone remains to be seen, but its current trajectory has already made it one of the most extraordinary success stories in Indian cinema.
