'Devara' Premieres: No Permission For Midnight Shows In AP?

Permissions for the paid midnight premieres of the film Devara at 1:00 AM may not be granted in Andhra Pradesh, according to hearsay.

It is reported that the Andhra Pradesh government is reluctant to approve midnight premieres due to concerns over law and order.

When asked about this, a distributor confirmed, "Yes, it's true. Jagan's government has never granted such permissions. Even Chandrababu's government followed the same policy to avoid law and order issues. This applies not just to Devara but to all films."

He further explained, "Some audience members attend midnight shows after consuming alcohol, which often leads to trouble in theaters. They may get into fights, damage seats, or even tear the screens. Exhibitors are also not in favor of these shows and often pressure the government to deny such permissions." Readmore!

However, another distributor offered a different view: "This government may be more lenient toward the film industry. They might grant permission for midnight shows, if only to show they are different from Jagan's government. Midnight premieres for Devara and other major films in AP could definitely happen."

Regarding the film Kalki, which was not screened at 1:00 AM, it was explained that the filmmakers themselves chose not to have a midnight show, and no permission was requested.

In Telangana, the situation differs. Revanth Reddy is reportedly more open to supporting the film industry and may allow midnight screenings.

The question remains whether filmmakers will choose to hold midnight premieres in Telangana if permission is not granted in Andhra Pradesh.

Additionally, overseas screenings, which may happen earlier, could influence the box office collections in other regions through word of mouth.
