Is Samantha Taking a Stand Against Revanth Reddy?

Actresses usually steer clear of controversies, avoiding anything that could stir unnecessary trouble.

But Samantha seems to have gone against the grain by speaking out on a highly sensitive issue currently making headlines in Telangana — the University of Hyderabad land dispute.

The controversy centers around 400 acres of land adjacent to the University of Hyderabad campus in Gachibowli, Hyderabad.

While students claim the land belongs to the university, the government insists it's state-owned and not connected to the Central University. Readmore!

Adding to the tension, deforestation activities have begun on the disputed land, sparking protests from students.

The state government, under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, has been accused of using force to suppress the demonstrations.

Amidst this, Samantha entered the conversation by posting on social media.

She expressed concern that despite ongoing protests, around 40 bulldozers were being used to clear trees in the forested area.

She warned that neglecting green cover could raise temperatures by up to 4°C and urged for the protection of the forest — a habitat for many wild animals and birds.

Samantha’s public stance is being seen as a bold move, potentially putting her at odds with the state government.

It now remains to be seen how many other film industry figures will come forward to support her call for environmental conservation.
