Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna’s action film Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss, has seen a dip in momentum at the domestic box office, collecting Rs 105.60 crore net in India over 10 days.
Despite a strong start with Rs 90.25 crore in its first five days, the film’s daily collections have steadily declined — Rs 1.75 crore on Monday and Rs 1.35 crore on Tuesday, with a 7.55% occupancy.
Though consistent, Sikandar hasn't created the blockbuster wave usually associated with a Salman Khan release.
However, it has fared better than Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, crossing Rs 200 crore worldwide in just nine days, though still trailing behind Tiger 3.
Director Murugadoss shared the challenges of working with superstars, admitting that scripts are often adjusted to meet fan expectations.
“You cannot be 100% true to the script,” he said, reflecting the tightrope directors walk when balancing creativity with stardom.
