Virat Kohli's long-standing association with German sportswear giant Puma is coming to a close after eight successful years.
The 36-year-old cricketer has decided not to renew his contract with the brand, choosing instead to focus on expanding his own lifestyle label, one8.
According to a Times of India report, Kohli turned down a staggering â¹300 crore deal from Puma for the next eight years — nearly triple the â¹110 crore contract he had signed in 2017.
Kohli is now expected to collaborate with Agilitas, a new sportswear company co-founded by Abhishek Ganguly, the former Managing Director of Puma India and Southeast Asia.
His goal: to globalize one8 and establish it as a leading athleisure brand.
Puma has confirmed Kohli’s exit.
“Puma wishes Virat the best for his future endeavors. It was a wonderful association over the years, filled with standout campaigns and innovative collaborations. We’ll continue to invest in the future of Indian sport,” a spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, on the field, Kohli continues to shine for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2025. Under new captain Rajat Patidar, RCB has had a strong start, winning three of their first five matches.
Kohli has contributed significantly, scoring a half-century in the opener against KKR and following it up with 67 in a close win over Mumbai Indians.
