The rift between NTR and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is no secret, and the release of War 2 has once again brought it into the spotlight.
A leaked audio tape circulating on social media revealed Anantapur MLA Daggubati Prasad using abusive language against NTR while speaking to a leader of NTR’s fans association.
In the conversation, the MLA repeatedly claimed that War 2 would not run successfully and hurled expletives at the actor, language so offensive it cannot be reproduced here.
The audio also suggests that the MLA swore not to allow NTR’s film to perform in Anantapur, especially since NTR is seen as being opposed to Nara Lokesh.
The crude language used in the call further exposed the depth of the bitterness between TDP leadership and the actor.
Once, NTR had campaigned extensively for the TDP, even continuing his efforts from a hospital bed after an accident.
But critics point out that, true to Chandrababu Naidu’s reputation for “use and throw” politics, NTR too was sidelined after serving his purpose.
With this leaked audio, it has now become clearer than ever that there is little to no chance of NTR returning to the TDP fold in the future.
The hostility has grown too deep, and War 2 has only magnified the estrangement between the star and the party.
