Kavitha to kickstart campaign from KCR's village?

After keeping a low profile for a brief period after being kicked out of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi headed by her father K Chandrasekhar Rao, Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha has started her campaign aggressively.

On Friday, Kavitha addressed a big meeting of the Hind Mazdoor Sabha (HMS) and Singareni Jagruthi at the Telangana Jagruthi, where she was felicitated on being elected as the honorary president of HMS.

Prior to her exit from the BRS, Kavitha was sacked as the honorary president of BRS-affiliated Telangana Boggu Gani Karmika Sangham (TBGKS) and later, she was chosen as the head of HMS.

She expressed confidence that HMS would emerge victorious in the forthcoming Singareni recognition union elections. Readmore!

She contrasted HMS’s agenda with that of TBGKS, the accusing the latter’s current leadership of being inactive.

“When KCR was in power, he safeguarded Singareni like his own child. TBGKS had people’s trust then. Today, their leaders are silent on workers’ problems and corruption. Workers deserve answers,” Kavitha said.

Simultaneously, Kavitha has decided to kickstart her Telangana Jagruthi campaign with the Bathukamma festivities from her father’s native village Chintamadaka in Siddipet district.

On Friday, villagers from Chintamadaka, met Kavitha in large numbers and invited her to participate in the first day of Bathukamma festival on September 21.

Responding to them, Kavitha said Chintamadaka is the great village that gave birth to a great movement leader and that she was delighted that so many villagers had come personally to invite her for Bathukamma.

“I have learnt a lot from Chintamadaka. I still vividly remember my childhood days of playing Bathukamma there. What you have given me today is not courage, but affection,” she said.

Meanwhile, Shobha, wife of KCR, visited Kavitha’s residence. She attended the birthday celebrations of Kavitha’s son-in-law Anil on Wednesday night.

According to BRS sources, Shobha gave Kavitha some special advice during the meeting, asking her to remain calm for a few days and assuring her that things would settle down.

It may be recalled that Kavitha’s sharp remarks ten days ago — alleging that senior BRS leaders T. Harish Rao and K. Santosh were “corrupt anacondas” responsible for the corruption taint on KCR — created a political storm.

Following this, she was suspended from the party. Political circles have been abuzz with speculation about deep divisions within the Kalvakuntla family. Subsequently, KTR and Harish Rao met KCR several times.

Against this backdrop, Shobha’s visit to Kavitha’s residence has sparked curiosity. Party sources noted that Shobha had skipped Kavitha’s son’s birthday celebrations on September 5.

“Every year on this occasion, a Satyanarayana Swamy vratham is performed at the house, with Shobha and all family members attending. But this time, that did not happen. However, Shobha sent new clothes and puja material,” the party sources revealed.
