South Indian star Samantha Ruth Prabhu has married filmmaker Raj Nidimoru; one half of the celebrated director duo Raj & DK; on December 1 at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
The intimate ceremony quickly became a major talking point, not only because both Samantha and Raj are prominent figures in the industry, but also because this marks a second marriage for each.
Samantha was previously married to actor Naga Chaitanya, while Raj was earlier married to Shhyamali De, an assistant director who has worked on several Bollywood projects.
The wedding has also reignited intense online debate surrounding Samantha’s personal life.
After her 2021 divorce from Chaitanya and his later marriage to Made in Heaven actress Sobhita Dhulipala in 2024; social media sentiment largely favoured Samantha, with many branding Sobhita a “homewrecker.”
However, with recent reports suggesting that Raj’s divorce from Shhyamali may not yet be legally final, the narrative has dramatically shifted.
Samantha is now facing similar accusations; sparking heated discussions across social platforms.
Adding fuel to the fire, actress Poonam Kaur posted a cryptic message on X (formerly Twitter) just hours after Samantha and Raj’s wedding.
Her post read: “Broke a home to create your own – sad ð The empowered, educated and narcissistic women who are glorified through paid PR campaigns. Money can buy weak and desperate men.”
Though she did not name anyone, netizens quickly concluded that the post was aimed at Samantha.
Poonam Kaur is known for her roles in films such as Ganesh, Gaganam, Souryam, Junooniyat, Bangles, and others.
Samantha and Raj Nidimoru first worked together on The Family Man 2 (2021), where she portrayed the much-discussed antagonist Raji.
The collaboration continued in 2024 with Citadel: Honey Bunny, the Indian adaptation of the Priyanka Chopra–starrer Citadel, featuring Samantha and Varun Dhawan.
Raj & DK are among India’s most acclaimed creators, known for series like Farzi and Guns & Gulaabs, and films like Stree, 99, Shor In The City, and Go Goa Gone.
As discussions around the wedding continue to dominate headlines and timelines, both Samantha and Raj remain silent on the online speculation, letting their work and now their new partnership; speak for itself.
