Big Money on Raja Saab Theatrical Rights

Raja Saab, produced by People Media Factory in the Prabhas–Maruthi combination, is slated for a Sankranti release.

With the film entering its marketing phase, trade discussions around its theatrical rights have picked up momentum.

So far, People Media Factory has largely avoided selling its films on a non-refundable advance basis. While a few films were sold outright in the past, the banner has recently preferred advance-based deals.

However, for Raja Saab, the producers have reportedly decided to opt for the non-refundable advance (NRA) model. Talks with buyers have already begun in this regard. Readmore!

According to trade sources, the Andhra area (excluding Rayalaseema) is being quoted at around ₹85 crore, which means the Uttarandhra region alone is valued at approximately ₹21 crore.

In comparison, Pushpa 2 was marketed in the Andhra region at close to the ₹100 crore mark, making Raja Saab’s price slightly lower.

If Andhra is pegged at ₹85 crore, Rayalaseema could be priced at around ₹40 crore. The Nizam territory is also expected to fetch close to ₹70 crore.

Reports suggest that People Media Factory is keen to sell the Nizam rights as well under the NRA model.

Interestingly, People Media Factory is a partner in the Mythri distribution network. Despite this, discussions are said to be underway for Mythri and Asian Cinemas to jointly acquire the rights to Raja Saab.

Based on these figures, the theatrical rights for Raja Saab across the two Telugu states are expected to be valued at close to ₹200 crore, underlining the massive expectations surrounding the film.
