The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leadership is reportedly upset with senior leader and former minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao over a recent post he made on social media.
In the post, Ganta complained about the travel inconvenience between Visakhapatnam and Amaravati, stating that one has to go via Hyderabad and catch a connecting flight — causing unnecessary trouble.
According to sources, the TDP high command feels that Ganta’s post undermines the image of the coalition government.
Senior party leaders are said to have called Ganta and expressed their displeasure, questioning why a former minister would make such a public complaint instead of addressing the issue internally.
Leaders reportedly pointed out that Ganta should have exercised better discretion, especially knowing that his own party MP from Srikakulam, Rammohan Naidu, is currently the Union Civil Aviation Minister.
Instead of raising the issue with him or other relevant authorities, airing such grievances publicly is seen as inappropriate for a senior leader.
The controversy was triggered when Ganta posted about having to travel via Hyderabad after morning flights between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada were canceled.
Since it was a Tuesday and the Vande Bharat train wasn’t running either, he had to take two connecting flights to reach Vijayawada. His expression of frustration gave ammunition to political opponents, TDP leaders felt.
Reportedly, the party has advised Ganta to bring such matters to the attention of the government or party leadership in the future, rather than posting about them publicly.
