Since the liquor scam investigation began, two leaders have been leveling serious allegations against each other.
Former YSR Congress Party leader V Vijay Sai Reddy, who is now ready to target anyone after leaving the party, has reportedly revealed several details about Kasireddy Rajasekhar Reddy during his questioning before the SIT investigation team.
Meanwhile, Rajasekhar Reddy, who has been avoiding SIT notices for weeks, responded with anger by releasing an audio statement, vowing to soon expose Vijay Sai Reddy’s misdeeds to the media.
Both leaders appearing before the SIT seems to be the only common thread. Many are beginning to suspect that they are using this investigation as an opportunity to settle personal scores.
It has been three months since Vijay Sai Reddy announced his resignation from the YSR Congress Party.
At the time, he alleged that a coterie had formed around party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and that this group was poisoning Jagan’s mind against him. Realizing that he no longer enjoyed the chief’s trust, Vijay Sai decided to leave the party.
Interestingly, the same coterie Vijay Sai blames for his exit allegedly includes Kasireddy Rajasekhar Reddy.
If the rumors are true — that Kasireddy played a role in turning Jagan against Vijay Sai — then Vijay Sai’s detailed testimony against him before the SIT makes sense.
During his statement, Vijay Sai Reddy reportedly distanced himself from other names like OSD Krishnamohan Reddy and IAS officer Dhanunjaya Reddy, claiming he had no recollection of their participation in key meetings. He also said he was unaware of Mithun Reddy’s involvement in the scam.
Vijay Sai singled out only Kasireddy Rajasekhar Reddy, making it appear as though he was solely responsible for the liquor scam.
Adding to this, Vijay Sai labeled Rajasekhar Reddy as a "criminal mind," expressing regret that he had once entrusted him with several key responsibilities within the party.
Naturally, these remarks have angered Kasireddy Rajasekhar Reddy. Though he had maintained silence until now, he has released an audio statement declaring that he has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking legal protection.
He warned that once the legal process concludes, he would personally come before the media to expose Vijay Sai Reddy’s entire "history of corruption."
As it stands, the liquor scam investigation is increasingly becoming a battleground for these two leaders’ personal rivalry.
Many observers believe that in their attempt to settle scores, they might be further entangling themselves in the legal net without even realizing it.
