As the Bihar assembly elections are fast approaching, politics across the country has started heating up.
While the main fight is between the Bharatiya Janata Party-Janata Dal (U) combine and the Rashtriya Janata Dal-led opposition bloc, the keenly watched party is Jan Suraaj Party headed by political strategist-turned-leader Prashant Kishor.
What has made the battle interesting is the way the Congress leadership is roping in its leaders, including Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy, from all parts of the country to campaign in Bihar.
Against this backdrop, Prashant Kishor launched a sudden and sharp attack on Revanth Reddy for running down the Biharis.
In a latest interview with a national media outlet, Kishor vowed that he would even go to Telangana to defeat Revanth Reddy in the next elections.
His remarks stem from past comments made by Revanth Reddy, where he allegedly belittled the people of Bihar. Kishor has since seized every opportunity to target him.
The Congress is reportedly considering Revanth Reddy as a campaigner in Bihar.
Responding to this, Kishor warned that if Revanth, who had once insulted the people of Bihar by comparing their DNA unfavourably with Telangana’s, dared to step on Bihar soil, he would be chased away.
Kishor further alleged that despite hopping between parties like BJP and TDP, Revanth Reddy barely managed to become chief minister once under Congress, but lacked the strength to win again.
“Neither Modi nor Rahul Gandhi can save him from me,” Kishor declared.
Condemning Telangana leaders for “insulting” Biharis while engaging in politics, Kishor asked: “Have we ever spoken ill of the people of Telangana? Biharis work hard in their fields, why demean them?”
He warned that if such insults continued, Bihar too might be forced to speak against Telangana.
