Rishab Shetty’s “Kantara: Chapter 1,” a prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara, recently crossed the Rs 800 crore mark worldwide, including rs 200 crore from its Hindi version.
While collections from the Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam versions have slowed down over the past two weeks, the film continues to perform decently in Kannada and Hindi markets.
The makers recently celebrated the milestone by releasing a special poster highlighting the Rs 800 crore worldwide gross.
Following this, some Kannada cinema fans hoped that the film might eventually enter the prestigious Rs 1000 crore club.
However, that now seems unlikely as the OTT premiere date has been confirmed.
“Kantara: Chapter 1” will start streaming on Prime Video from October 31, in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam languages.
