On Wednesday, the court modified its earlier August 14, 2024 order and declared the nominations invalid, postponing the next hearing to September 17.

Reacting to the decision, Ali Khan expressed surprise, saying he had not expected such a verdict. He added that he would comment further after reading the court order.

Khan revealed that he had learned about the development only minutes earlier through a phone call from his lawyer, and noted with regret that he came from a journalism background with no political lineage.

He also stated that no government leaders had yet spoken to him about the matter.
