Pics: Srikanth Meka's father passes away

Srikanth Meka, known for acting in films like Pelli Sandadi, Khadgam, Shankar Dada MBBS, Mahatma and more faced immeasurable loss when he lost his father, Meka Parameswara Rao late on Sunday.

The 70-year-old breathed his last at 11:45 PM at a private hospital in Hyderabad, after receiving treatment for a lung issue since the last few months.

He is survived by his wife Jhansi Lakshmi, who is inconsolable and children Srikanth, Anil and Nirmala. The funeral took place on Monday afternoon at a crematorium in Jubilee Hills.

Born on March 16, 1948, in Krishna Jilla’s Mekavaripalem in Krishna district, Parameswara Rao later moved to Basavapalem village in Gangavati district, Karnataka with his family.

Srikanth had mentioned in an interview that his father was a landlord in Karnataka when he had the urge to work in films.

He also stated that his father had sold all his lands by the time the three children completed their education and the first thing he did after attaining success was to buy back his father’s lands.

Tollywood celebs, including Allu Aravind and Chiranjeevi, paid their condolences and visited the actor's home.
