The upcoming film Shashtipurthi, featuring Roopesh in the lead role, is currently in production under MAA AAI Productions.
The film stars veteran actor Rajendra Prasad and two-time National Award-winning actress Archana in prominent roles. This marks their on-screen reunion after 38 years, following the classic Ladies Tailor.
Akanksha Singh plays the female lead opposite Roopesh, with Pavan Prabha helming the project and Rupesh Chowdary producing it.
The stage is set for the release of the song Edo Ye Janmalodo from the movie’s album, a track that promises to be a landmark in Indian cinema.
Composed by the legendary Ilaiyaraaja and penned by Oscar-winning MM Keeravani, the song brings together two of India’s greatest musical maestros for the first time.
Speaking about the collaboration, director Pavan Prabha revealed: “This film features five songs. While Chaitanya Prasad wrote the lyrics for four songs, Keeravani Garu graciously contributed the lyrics for the fifth. It’s an honor to witness the union of Ilaiyaraaja Garu and Keeravani Garu for this special song.”
Producer Rupesh Chowdary added: “What more could we ask for than a song composed by Ilaiyaraaja Garu and lyrics by Keeravani Garu? Shashtipurthi is a family-oriented drama with relevant themes. Working with veterans like Rajendra Prasad Garu and Archana Garu was truly rewarding. Production is now complete, and we will announce the release date soon.”
