Apple is facing a major challenge in India as Chinese workers hired by Foxconn, its manufacturing partner, are quitting their jobs.
These workers played a key role in training Indian staff and maintaining smooth iPhone production. Their sudden exit may slow down the process, delay deliveries, and increase prices of upcoming models.
Foxconn had brought over 300 skilled Chinese workers to its South Indian factory to support the transition. They were not just assembling phones but also ensuring quality and efficiency. However, in the past two months, many have left without clear reasons.
It’s believed that China may be restricting the movement of its skilled workforce due to companies like Apple shifting production outside China.
This comes at a critical time as Apple and Foxconn are preparing to manufacture more units of the iPhone 17. A slowdown in India could impact Apple’s long-term expansion plans.
While Apple still produces most iPhones in China, India is central to its future strategy—making the departure of Chinese workers a big setback.
