Nitish Kumar: End Of The Reign?

In Bihar, the NDA alliance is talking about the insult to Narendra Modi’s mother whereas the INDIA bloc is speaking about ‘Vote Chori’, law and order and other development issues.

INDIA alliance’s unofficial Chief Ministerial candidate Tejaswi Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal and son of former Chief Minister Lalu Yadav is drawing massive crowds at all his rallies.

It is understandable because there is a lot of anti-incumbency against Nitish Kumar who is the longest serving Chief Minister of Bihar.

However, he has made so many switches from the NDA to the INDIA bloc and vice-versa that people have lost count. Readmore!

Known as a ‘developmental’ Chief Minister who ended the reign of Lalu’s ‘jungle raj’, the recent spate of high profile murders in Bihar have dented his image.

In the 245-strong Bihar Assembly, Nitish Kumar’s Party has 43 members, the BJP has 74, and Tejaswi Yadav’s RJD has 75 and the Congress 19.

Ace political strategist Prashant Kishore recently made a startling observation that he would quit politics if Nitish Kumar’s Party won more than 25 seats in the upcoming elections.

If Prashant’s prediction comes true, it would mean that either the BJP or Tejaswi Yadav would be the beneficiaries. Judging by the way the wind is blowing, it seems Tejaswi Yadav is all set to cash in on the void.

The reign of Nitish Kumar might be coming to an end. But you do not get to be the Chief Minister of a State for a record time without having political acumen of the highest order.

Does the septuagenarian have a final ace up his sleeve that can tilt Bihar in favour of the NDA?
