The makers of Baahubali have congratulated the team of Dhurandhar 2 after the film created history at the North America box office.
For nearly nine years, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion held the record as the highest-grossing Indian film in North America, earning over $20 million.
Now, that long-standing record has been broken by Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which has reportedly crossed $22 million in the region.
Celebrating this milestone, the makers of Baahubali took to the film’s official page on X (formerly Twitter) to congratulate the team.
They wrote, “Congratulations to AdityaDharFilms and the entire team of Dhurandhar2TheRevenge on breaking the 9-year-old records of Baahubali2 and setting new box office benchmarks in India, USA and worldwide.”
The message came in response to a tweet by Shobu Yarlagadda, producer of Baahubali 2, who also praised the film.
Reacting to a post that claimed Dhurandhar 2 now holds the all-time North America record, Shobu shared his appreciation after watching the film.
He wrote, “Yesterday I watched Dhurandhar2TheRevenge and needless to say I loved it and thoroughly enjoyed the film! Happy to see it breaking all the records and setting new box office benchmarks in India and worldwide! Congratulations to the entire team!”
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role.
The film follows his journey as Indian spy Jaskirat Singh Rangi, who transforms into Hamza Ali Mazari while infiltrating the underworld and political network of Lyari as part of a mission to dismantle a terror network in Pakistan.
With this achievement, Dhurandhar 2 has not only rewritten box office history but also earned appreciation from one of India’s biggest film franchises.
